Develop and present a monitoring plan to staff
 
. Each school needs to develop a Monitoring Plan that monitors individual student progress on the content standard indicators related to your school improvement goal. The Monitoring Plan needs to include the following:
  1. A table or grid identifying which indicators your school is collecting by grade level and by teaching assignment.
  2. Clear expectations for how frequently the data needs to be collected, organized, and shared with the principal or school improvement team.
  3. An expectation for how teachers should use the data to inform instruction.
  4. A game plan for how to use regularly scheduled time to discuss the data results, examine student work, and examine teacher assignments and assessments.
It is critical that all staff understand your expectations for how they monitor individual student progress. Write a memo or develop a presentation that outlines the Monitoring Plan and your expectations. Develop a template of the data you expect them to collect, the format in which you expect them to record the data, and a timeframe for when they need to submit it.

Criteria used to assess effective performance
You will have demonstrated effective performance on this assignment if
  1. Your memo or presentation clearly outlined how you expect staff to monitor individual student progress on selected indicators, how frequently they need to monitor, how they need to use the data to inform instruction, and how they are expected to use regularly scheduled time to discuss the data results, examine student work, and examine teacher assignments and assessments.
  2. Your data collection template identifies the data to be collected, the format in which to record the data and the time frame for submitting the data.
  3. Your staff can articulate what you expect them to do.
