Linda Eberhardt, 2002 Maryland State Teacher of the Year, Mount Royal Elementary School
Linda Eberhart is the 2002 Maryland State Teacher of the Year. For 32 years she has taught in the Baltimore City Public Schools, at Mount Royal Elementary School for the last 26 years where she teaches fourth and fifth graders math, science and social studies. Mount Royal's 5th graders have been the highest math achievers in Maryland on the state performance tests in 1999 and 2000. She has a web site at www.teachingthatworks.com. Linda and Mt. Royal School have been featured on the NBC evening news, CNN News, Baltimore Sunpapers, national Governor's Conference on Standards, and several radio shows for raising student's achievement levels through real world, hands-on activities that engage students to apply math, science, and social studies skills in performance tasks.
